Job Description - Electrical Area Supervisor

As a result of continuous national growth, LAI Group are seeking an Electrical Area Supervisor located at our manufacturing plant in Adelaide (Ferryden Park). We would like someone who is excited about the opportunity to build a stable, rewarding, and fulfilling career with us. 

Schedule

  • Full-time Position.
  • A 38-hour week (Monday – Friday + reasonable overtime).

The Position 

We are looking for an Electrical Area Supervisor that can bring leadership, knowledge, and experience to the Electrical Switchroom team. The position will oversee electrical works conducted on Switchrooms and allocate resources to achieve timeframes. The appropriate candidate will report directly to the Switchrooms Operations Manager, providing regular updates on project schedules. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Allocate resources and manpower to prioritised projects.
  • Analyse blueprint drawings and conduct mark ups where required.
  • Maintain communication with the project team to provide a high-quality product.
  • Oversee and assist contractors on-site. 
  • Analyse, communicate, and address non-conformities with the appropriate stakeholders. 
  • Guide and promote a learning environment amongst your team.
  • Train, mentor and oversee Electrical Apprentices.
  • Promote and encourage safe working practices. 

The Candidate

The successful candidate would have experience leading a small to medium size teams, understands the importance of managing workloads, and experience with achieving timeframes on medium to large scale projects. 

  • Hold an Electrical Class A licence.
  • Leadership qualities.
  • Communication skills.
  • Troubleshoot to identify successful solutions when problems arise and conduct a lesson learnt.
  • Read and interpret blueprints to determine layout of system components, frameworks, and foundations.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Understands the importance of safe work practices and ensure a high-quality product. 

Desirable Competencies:

  • Experience mounting electrical equipment, mechanical support / protection.
  • Experience in the electrical Switchboard/Switchroom industry.
  • Experience wiring main switchboards, motor control centres, PLC / RIO panels and distribution boards.
  • Electrical testing experience.
