Are you a senior engineering leader passionate about shaping the future of maritime defence? As the Engineering Manager in our Defence Maritime Support Services (DMSS) team, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering complex engineering and sustainment services across Australia. Based at Garden Island, NSW, you'll lead a multidisciplinary team, oversee key contract performance, and collaborate closely with Defence stakeholders to ensure high-quality, safe, and compliant engineering outcomes.

As Engineering Manager in the DMSS team, you’ll make a positive impact by:

• Leading and managing engineering services and configuration management across the DMSS contract


• Overseeing maintenance KPIs and producing monthly and quarterly performance reports


• Managing supply support and inventory requirements through the Recommended Provisioning List


• Supporting corrective maintenance and ensuring compliance with technical and regulatory standards


• Driving vessel docking planning, budgeting, and performance monitoring


• Championing continuous improvement through asset management principles like ISO 55001

You could be a great fit if you have:

• Extensive experience leading engineering and sustainment services within Defence or maritime contracts


• Strong technical problem-solving and engineering change management capabilities


• Exceptional leadership and stakeholder engagement skills across varied functions


• At least 15 years’ experience in Defence or maritime engineering environments


• Knowledge of marine maintenance systems, regulatory standards, and ISO frameworks


• Degree-qualified in Engineering, with CPEng eligibility (post-grad Business or PM qualifications desirable)
