Field Service Technician (Sunshine Coast, QLD)

Position Summary

STERIS Australia is looking to strengthen our service organisation by hiring a Field Service Technician to perform equipment installation, validation, service, and repair across STERIS’s range of CSSD and surgical equipment within assigned territory in Australia. You will provide User Training and troubleshooting support in the Australia market as required as well as assist the Service Manager / Director in managing spare parts inventory and documentation.

This is a customer-facing role, to support our customers in the Sunshine Coast region, ideally you are based in Sunshine Coast or surrounding areas, with occasional travel required to support Northern NSW and the NT as needed.

What You Will Do

• Develop and implement technical service function for STERIS equipment.


• Perform equipment installations, preventive maintenance, validations and repair of equipment and products in the field as assigned.


• Interface with customers via customers visit / telephone / email to provide quality product support.


• Provide in-service session for the customers and conduct equipment and assist product clinical trials demonstrating applications with regards to systems, accessories, and techniques.


• Provide applications / user / technical training.


• File product complaints according to company procedures.


• Assist with spare parts inventory management for various products.


• Identify training needs and make recommendations.


• Maintain preventive maintenance and troubleshooting and document accordingly.


• Document and update internal procedures.


• Manage and maintain equipment / spares database file through accurate documentations of movement, tracking and repair statuses.


• Deliver a superior level of customer after sales support.

The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed

Required:

• Trade Certificate/Technical Certificate/Diploma with strong hands-on technical service experience


• Experience in troubleshooting, repair, modify, overhaul, or refurbish standard and special purpose equipment and systems components


• Valid driver's license and possess own vehicle (car allowance will be provided), willingness to travel within QLD, Northern NSW and NT.


• Flexibility to carry out work duties occasionally beyond ordinary working hour.


• Restricted or Full Electrical License.

Preferred:

• Steam steriliser experience


• Audiovisual (AV), surgical integration system or surgical table experience


• Able to operate a computer, have an intermediate understanding of DOS and Windows, as well as proficient in Microsoft Office software packages, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Others:

• Visual acuity and manual dexterity are necessary to manipulate tools and equipment to perform essential functions.
