Finance Manager

Finance Manager | Construction | Western Sydney (5 days on site) | $140,000-$170,000 + Super

A well-established, construction business is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to take full ownership of its finance function. Operating across a diverse portfolio of projects within live environments, the business has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality outcomes across government and private sector clients.

This is a hands-on leadership role offering genuine scope, autonomy, and a clear pathway into a Financial Controller position.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the CFO, you will lead a small finance team and act as a key commercial partner to senior stakeholders. This role is ideal for a current Finance Manager looking to step into a broader remit with real influence across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-end ownership of the finance function, including month-end, reconciliations, and reporting
• Preparation and lodgement of BAS, GST, and FBT returns, ensuring full compliance
• Oversight of payroll, including superannuation and statutory obligations
• Cashflow management, forecasting, and working capital oversight
• Business partnering with senior leadership to drive commercial decision-making
• Oversight of operational areas including insurance, contracts, and administration
• Driving process improvements, controls, and efficiencies across finance
• Leadership and development of a team of 2 Finance Officers

About You

• CA or CPA qualified
• Proven experience within commercial construction or a project-based environment
• Experience with construction/project accounting systems (e.g. Procore) advantageous
