The Company…



Finmar Asset Management Pty Ltd is an Australian financial services business based in Mandurah, Western Australia. The company holds Australian Financial Services Licence number 555048 and provides investment advisory, portfolio-management and wealth-management services to wholesale and sophisticated clients. The business is seeking a highly experienced Financial Investment Adviser to join its Mandurah-based team on a full-time basis.




The Position…



This is a senior advisory role focused on investment advice, portfolio construction, portfolio reviews, investment research, client relationship management and business development.

Key responsibilities will include:



  • meeting with existing and prospective wholesale and sophisticated clients to assess their financial circumstances, investment objectives, risk tolerance and wealth-management needs;

  • developing, implementing and reviewing investment strategies and portfolio recommendations;

  • advising on investment products, managed funds, securities, superannuation, asset allocation and portfolio diversification;

  • conducting financial analysis and investment research;

  • monitoring financial markets, economic trends and portfolio performance;

  • preparing investment reports, portfolio reviews and strategic recommendations;

  • maintaining ongoing client relationships through regular reviews and reporting;

  • liaising with accountants, legal practitioners, fund managers, brokers, platforms, custodians and other professional advisers;

  • identifying suitable new business opportunities and supporting growth in the client base and funds under advice/management; and

  • maintaining accurate client records and ensuring compliance with applicable financial services legislation, licensing obligations, AFSL requirements and professional standards.




The Ideal Candidate…



The ideal candidate will have:



  • a Master of Business Administration or comparable postgraduate qualification in business, finance, commerce or a related field;

  • at least 15 years’ senior-level experience as a Financial Investment Adviser, Investment Adviser, Wealth Manager or closely related occupation;

  • demonstrated experience advising high-net-worth individuals, family offices, business owners, trusts and sophisticated investors;

  • strong experience in investment advice, portfolio construction, asset allocation, risk management and wealth-management strategies;

  • strong understanding of Australian financial services legislation, compliance obligations and professional standards;

  • excellent analytical, communication, relationship-management and business-development skills;

  • the ability to independently manage complex client relationships and provide high-level strategic financial advice;

  • strong written and verbal communication skills; and

  • a professional, client-focused and ethical approach.

Licensing Requirement



Applicants must hold, or be eligible to obtain, all authorisations required to lawfully provide financial advice in Australia, including authorisation under an Australian Financial Services Licence where required.

Applicants must not be banned or disqualified from providing financial services in Australia.
