Food and Catering Assistant

We are seeking a Food and Catering Assistant to join our team at Canton Beach Retirement Living Village on a Permanent Full‑Time basis. In this role, you will assist in the preparation and service of nutritious, wholesome meals for residents and clients, in line with HACCP food safety requirements.

This is a shift‑based position, working 8am–7pm on a rotating roster, including every second weekend.

A bit about your new role: 

• Assist senior team members with planning, cooking, and preparing a full range of meals.

• Participate in food operations, including cook‑fresh and cook‑chill processes.

• Prepare and serve nutritious, wholesome meals with appropriate variety.

• Order food supplies as required.

• Prepare special and modified diets.

• Prepare and serve meals for functions and events.
   

A bit about you: 

• Experience in a catering or food service role—aged care or retirement living experience is desirable but not essential.

• Ability to work effectively within a team and follow direction.

• Strong communication skills.

• Knowledge and experience with Food Safety requirements.

• Previous experience in bulk cooking, preferably in aged care.

• Understanding of quality systems related to catering services.

• Ability to work according to roster requirements.
