DSV Air & Sea  is seeking to hire a skilled and passionate Freight Forwarder, Import Sea in Melbourne.

The position is responsible for arranging and directing the transportation and shipment of import door consignments from origin to destination by compiling, completing and verifying required documents in accordance with company policy and procedure and external body regulations.

Your typical day at DSV:

• 
  
  Monitor and manage the shared Import mailbox, ensuring timely action, flagging, and escalation of emails.
  
  


• 
  
  Liaise with carriers, shipping lines, and origin offices to obtain missing documents and shipment details.
  
  


• 
  
  Assist in chasing Delivery Orders and support coordination with depots and consolidators.
  
  


• 
  
  Maintain accurate filing and organisation of shipment documentation (HBL/MBL, invoices, packing lists, DOs, etc.).
  
  


• 
  
  Update shipment data in the system and assist with transport bookings, timeslots, and POD collection (under supervision).
  
  


• 
  
  Support team operations by preparing pre-alerts, assisting with customer notifications, and helping resolve delays or exceptions.
  
  

About you:

• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a shared mailbox effectively. 


• Good written communication and professional email etiquette.


• A proactive mindset with confidence in following up with carriers and origin partners.


• High attention to detail and willingness to learn freight forwarding systems and processes.


• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and escalate issues when needed. 


• Interest in developing into a full Import Sea Transport Operator.
