Job Description - Government and Corporate Affairs Associate

Company Description

SunDrive is a Sydney based solar technology start-up on a mission to unlock solar’s full potential. In September 2021, we produced the world’s most efficient commercial size solar cell using our very own revolutionary copper technology, showing that higher efficiencies for solar can also be reached.

Founded in 2015 by two university flatmates in a garage in Wollongong we have come a long way. We recently secured $21 million in our Series A funding round and are backed by some of Australia’s top venture capital firms (Blackbird, Main Sequence, Virescent, Grok), tech founders, and the Australian Government, SunDrive has grown from a small PhD project in a garage to now producing world leading solar technology.

After our recent round of funding, we are ready to show our cells to the world and are gearing up to go to market with large scale pilot manufacturing. With your help through the next exciting chapter, we can change the future of Australia.

Job Description

As our new Government and Corporate Affairs Manager you will be an integral part of our next stage of growth by working with the team on all government, industry, and public engagement aspects. You will get the opportunity to devise and implement our government relations strategy whilst building and maintaining strong government relationships and keeping on top of evolving industry issues.

An important part of the role will be helping to develop and shape SunDrive’s story by preparing public speaking notes, funding applications and position papers. You will be familiar with local and global renewable and manufacturing regulations and legislation and be confident in advising the business on any upcoming changes and providing effective, strategic advice to the leadership team.

Qualifications

You will be passionate about our mission and bring a wealth of knowledge within policy, public affairs and public relations and have experience working with government initiatives and processes. You will also have proven experience in preparing a wide range of strategic and government communications, both internally and externally.

Our collaborative culture is key to our success so you must be able to communicate and positively influence the wider business as well as be able to work proactively and think outside the box. You will be an analytic and strategic thinker who isn't scared to investigate and solve in depth and challenging problems that may arise within a fast paced and ever-changing environment.
