About the Role:
Reporting to the CFO, as our Group Financial Controller you will manage a team of Finance professionals and work closely with our Executive team to provide financial insights to the business, foster an environment of best practice and continual improvement with accounting processes, systems and reporting.
Responsibilities across the group include:
- Pro-actively lead, motivate and mentor the financial accounting and payroll team (team of 5)
- Manage the delivery of accurate and timely monthly financial and board reporting
- Management of all financial and tax compliance including monthly, quarterly, and annual tax lodgments such as income tax, GST, PAYG, FBT, and payroll tax, as well as annual statutory financial accounts preparation and filings
- Develop and implement an annual financial plan and three-year financial forecast aligned to the strategic plan
- Manage variance reporting against the annual budgets and forecasts
- Leading the treasury function and cash flow management for the Group
- Assisting with management of external banking relationships
- Managing external relationships with auditors and tax advisors
- Establish and maintain documentation of accounting procedures and policies
- Oversea the on-going management of ERP system improvements and upgrades
- Identify and recommend areas to improve business efficiencies and improve financial performance
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payrolls activities across our business units
Required Qualifications & Competencies
- CA or CPA qualified or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years’ work experience
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Proven track record of progression and achievements
- Strong technical background including M&A transactions and consolidations
- Experience management financial close processes
- Advanced excel skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organised and ability to direct the work of others
- Professional worth ethic
- Desire for ongoing continuous improvement and process excellence
- +3 years’ experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central (MS Dynamics BC) or the setup and development of other mid-market ERP systems
- Experience with preparation and lodgment of tax returns and statements
Preferred
- Prior experience working in Energy, Telecommunications or Utilities industry
- Prior experience working in a private equity backed organisation
