Join our Maintenance team and help keep our hotel operating at its best. Working as part of a small, hands-on team and reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will play an important role in ensuring our guest rooms, public areas, equipment and facilities are maintained to the highest standard. This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys problem-solving, shows initiative and takes pride in delivering excellent service.

As our Handyperson, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the hotel, helping to provide a safe, functional and welcoming environment for our guests and team members. You will work independently for much of your shift while remaining connected with operational teams to ensure maintenance issues are resolved efficiently.

Key responsibilities include:

• Completing general repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the hotel.
• Conducting daily plant and equipment inspections and reporting faults.
• Responding to maintenance requests in guest rooms and public areas.
• Prioritising tasks and attending to urgent maintenance issues promptly.
• Maintaining accurate records of completed and outstanding maintenance work.
• Ensuring tools, equipment and workshop areas are maintained safely and professionally.
• Working collaboratively with operational departments to minimise disruption to guests.
• Following all WHS, environmental and hotel compliance requirements. 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience in general building maintenance, facilities maintenance or similar hands-on role
• Experience within hospitality, accommodation or a customer-focused environment will be highly regarded.
• The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities without constant supervision.
• Strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to guest service.
• Confidence using technology and digital communication tools, including HUB OS and WhatsApp.
• Experience using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• A proactive approach, strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster across Monday to Sunday.
