Head of People and Culture

The opportunity

Allied Express and VTFE, part of the Freightways Group, are seeking a commercially minded Head of People & Culture to lead the next stage of their people agenda.

With strong foundations already established, this is an opportunity to build on what’s working, take P&C to the next level and ensure our people, leadership and ways of working are ready to support growth.

Reporting to the Allied Express CEO, with a dotted line to Freightways’ Group Head of People & Culture, you’ll partner with both executive teams and lead a small P&C team. You’ll combine strategic direction with practical delivery in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.

What you’ll do

· Translate business priorities into practical people plans that support growth.

· Strengthen leadership capability, succession and workforce planning.

· Lead organisational change and improve core people practices.

· Mentor, Develop and Guide the existing P&C team.

· Provide confident advice on complex employee relations and people risk.

· Build a safe, engaged and accountable culture, using people insights to guide decisions.

What you’ll bring

You’re an experienced senior P&C leader who builds trust, exercises sound judgement and follows through. You bring strong Australian employee relations expertise, commercial acumen and experience partnering with executive teams in complex operational businesses. Road transport sector knowledge would be highly valued.
