Job Description

As part of Nine Publishing, you will join the home of Australia’s premier news mastheads, including The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, The Australian Financial Review, Brisbane Times, and WAtoday. 

Are you ready to shape the future of media monetisation? Reporting to the Director of Business Subscriptions & AI Monetisation, you will serve as the commercial architect for Nine Publishing's non-subscription B2B revenue, pioneering how our premium intellectual property integrates with the global tech ecosystem. In this pivotal role, you will lead the strategy for high-value data assets, complex IP licensing, and API  models to capture fair market value and drive high-margin growth.

Day to day you will:

• Lead the strategy for non-subscriber revenue, BI licensing, and AI platform partnerships.

• Secure strategic placements for premium content on external platforms to boost brand discovery.

• Define commercial pricing and packaging models tailored for AI and enterprise integration.

• Manage the full P&L for Syndication and Licensing, including accurate revenue forecasting.

• Execute complex contracts and negotiations with global tech firms and BI platforms.

• Implement usage guardrails to protect core IP and prevent direct subscription cannibalisation.

• Provide technical expertise to scale and commercially optimise The Australian Financial Review for Business integrations.

What you'll bring:

• Prior commercial leadership experience in B2B enterprise sales or high-value licensing.

• A proven track record of successfully closing six and seven-figure deals.

• Deep technical literacy in API business models, SaaS platforms, and Generative AI metrics.

• Strong legal and IP expertise in negotiating complex data rights and intellectual property contracts.

• Strategic growth experience building new commercial channels or product lines in large organisations.

• An analytical mindset capable of managing full P&L responsibilities and revenue forecasting.
