As we embark on a bold new strategy for our Group Internal Audit (GIA) division, we are looking for a Head of Technology, Security & Data Audit to join our leadership team. About the Role

As the Head of Technology, Security & Data Audit, you will be at the heart of our strategic transformation. You will provide strategic and operational leadership over our assurance program, focusing on the critical areas of technology, security, and data that underpin our entire organisation.

Your mission will be to protect and strengthen the Bank by providing independent assurance, strategic insight, and trusted challenge over what matters most. You will play a pivotal role in our journey to move from periodic audits to continuous, AI-enabled assurance, helping us anticipate risk and strengthen strategic decision-making at the highest levels.

What You’ll Do:

• Drive Strategic Assurance: Lead the development and execution of a dynamic, risk-based audit plan for technology, information security, data, and third-party risk, directly aligning with our new 3-year strategic roadmap.


• Be a Trusted Advisor: Build influential relationships with Board members, executives, and regulators, providing objective insights that drive effective risk management and governance.


• Innovate and Transform: Champion the use of data analytics, AI-enabled audit techniques, and agile methodologies to build a future-ready audit function.


• Lead a High-Performing Team: Mentor and develop a team of specialists, fostering a culture of intellectual curiosity, professional scepticism, and continuous improvement. You'll not only Be better together but also inspire your team to Make a difference every day.

Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking a forward-thinking leader with a deep understanding of the evolving risk landscape in financial services. You are not afraid to challenge the status quo and have a proven track record of driving change.

• Essential Experience: A minimum of 12-15 years in Internal Audit, Risk Management, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role focused on technology, security, and data risk.


• Regulatory Expertise: Deep knowledge of APRA prudential standards (especially CPS 234 and CPS 230) and experience engaging with regulators.


• Strategic Mindset: The ability to think strategically, provide robust and courageous challenge to executive stakeholders, and translate complex technical risks into business-relevant insights.


• Inspirational Leader: Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing specialist teams and drive a positive, high-performance culture.


• Qualifications: Relevant tertiary and professional qualifications (e.g., CISA, CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CIA).
