Job Description - Head Veterinarian l Craigieburn

Petstock Vet - Craigieburn

Are you ready to lead a team of amazingly passionate veterinary professionals, who thrive on providing excellent care, open communication, teamwork, celebrating the wins, fun scrub Fridays and of course, a great sense of humour?

Welcome to Petstock Vet Craigieburn, a
clinic that has been purpose built and equipped with optimal veterinary care in mind.

Job Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced veterinarian with 3+ years’ industry experience to lead our fun loving, hardworking and passionate team, on a full-time basis.

We are open to discussing possibility of a part-time position, for the right candidate.

Lead beside a wonderful and experienced practice manager, who is ready to support you.

Work in a purpose-built clinic created with optimal veterinary care in mind. We are a co-located site, with Petstock retail next door, allowing us to provide a holistic approach to pet health.

Be strengthened by a team that pride themselves on a high standard of patient and customer care. They are respected within the community, and highly rated by their clients.

With access to our Leadership and Business Mentorship resources, an experienced associate can successfully transition to the next stage in their career, or an experienced leader can feel empowered to be more effective and influential.

The role requires that you:

  • Are confident in all aspects of general practice. This is a hands-on role, where you will be on the floor working alongside your team.

  • Are comfortable mentoring and sharing your knowledge with others.

  • Promote excellent clinical skills. We pride ourselves on a high standard of patient and client care.

  • Build relationships and deliver high customer service standards.

  • Are confident and motivated. Our team is excited to grow!

  • Maintain the clinics financials, alongside our experienced practice manager, with support from our small-scale veterinary operations team.

  • Provide support and positivity to your team. The clinic culture is already very positive, with a conscious effort put into regular lunch and learns, team meetings, debriefs, celebrating each other with our positivity board and monthly social outings.

What you can expect:

  • A modern clinic with all the bells and whistles (i.e. IDEXX laboratory machines, digital radiographs (dental included), surgical suite, etc).

  • An experienced and friendly Practice Manager to lead alongside you and provide extra support.

  • A team that is caring, positive and receptive to change and growth.

  • A diverse and supporting team of veterinary nurses with fantastic skill sets and various special interests (behavior, pocket pets, birds and zoo/exotics).

  • The ability to participate in heartwarming opportunities, such as our 100% successful strays/adoptions program and our Santa Photos for charity (a recently started tradition).

  • Autonomy! You have a seat at the table, and we are excited to hear your own ideas for your team and clinic.

  • Receive support and mentorship whether you are experienced in leadership or starting new.

  • Remuneration package with regular reviews that generously rewards performance.

  • No after hours, public holidays, Sundays, or on call roster.

  • Flexibility that accommodates you, as well as clinic requirements.

  • Unlimited professional development that supports your career goals.

  • Business mentorship.

Some of the Perks:

  • Aside from a supportive team, well equipped clinic and positive clinic culture....

  • Fun scrub Fridays and Mad Mondays are a thing!

  • Paid parental leave.

  • In-clinic VIN membership.

  • Petstock Group Annual Conference attendance, at no cost to you.

  • Significant team member, family & pet discounts across Petstock Group & Woolworth’s reward programs.

  • Access to the Petstock Group’s Employee Assistance Program (health & wellbeing support).

  • Ample leadership and mentorship resources at your fingertips.

  • A supportive Veterinary Operations team, who are all veterinarians and veterinary nurses, therefore have a great understanding of how a clinic runs.
