Job Description - Industrial Relations Business Partner

Exciting new permanent role for an IR specialist!Are you an IR practitioner who prefers technical depth, legal exposure, and complex casework over generalist HR activity? Look no further as we have the role for you!
Your new companyHays are working with a national organisation seeking an experienced Industrial Relations Business Partner to join a specialist workplace relations function. This position partners with senior leaders, HR teams, and executives to manage high volume industrial and employee relations matters across a multi-site workforce.
Your new roleThis position delivers end-to-end industrial relations support with a strong focus on compliance, litigation, and enterprise bargaining. Daily work centres on Fair Work matters, union engagement, and commercial risk management.As a pivotal member of their team, you will be entrusted with a range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:

Key responsibilities
  • Lead enterprise agreement and union negotiations
  • Provide expert industrial relations advice
  • Manage Fair Work and tribunal casework
  • Handle complex disputes and grievances
  • Ensure IR compliance and risk management
  • Deliver IR projects and business support
  • Prepare submissions and formal documentation
  • Liaise with external legal advisors
  • Develop IR tools and processes
  • Coach junior ER or HR capability
What you will need to succeed
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in IR focused roles
  • Fair Work Commission or tribunal experience
  • Enterprise agreement and union negotiation experience
  • Employment law or IR background, legal experience regarded
  • Strong executive and senior leader partnering
  • High quality written advice and submissions
  • Able to manage competing priorities at pace
