Institutional Equity Sales Dealer

Location: Milsons Point, Sydney (on-site)
Hours: Monday to Friday | 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Reporting to: CEO

About the Role

An established boutique financial services firm is expanding its institutional platform following the launch of its Corporate Finance and ECM division. As part of this growth, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Institutional Equity Sales Dealer to play a key role in originating and distributing capital markets transactions, alongside maintaining a supporting secondary market flow.

This role is primarily capital markets-driven, with a strong emphasis on leveraging investor relationships to originate and execute ECM opportunities. It is ideal for a well-connected professional who thrives in a lean, entrepreneurial environment and enjoys direct access to senior leadership and decision-makers.

We are ideally looking for candidates from boutique brokers or smaller platforms where hybrid institutional and HNW coverage is common. ,

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, develop, and monetise relationships across a broad investor base including:
    • Institutional fund managers
    • Family offices
    • Small and micro-cap fund managers
    • High-net-worth (HNW) clients
  • Originate and support execution of ECM transactions including placements, IPOs, and sell-downs
  • Pre-sound investor demand and contribute to bookbuild processes and allocations
  • Leverage client relationships to drive participation in capital markets deals
  • Maintain and grow a HNW client book alongside institutional coverage
  • Generate and support secondary market flow as a complementary function
  • Present investment ideas, block trades, and liquidity opportunities to clients
  • Provide real-time market intelligence and investor feedback to ECM and Corporate Finance teams
  • Execute trades with a focus on discretion, efficiency, and best execution
  • Operate in full compliance with ASIC Market Integrity Rules and internal governance

About You

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in institutional equity sales, capital markets, or a related field
  • Proven track record in capital markets transactions (ECM) and strong understanding of deal execution
  • Established and portable client relationships across institutional, HNW, and/or family office networks
  • Experience covering small to micro-cap investors and companies
  • Background in hybrid roles combining institutional and private wealth/HNW coverage is highly regarded
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to originate opportunities, not just execute flow
  • RG146 (Securities) compliant and eligible for Authorised Representative appointment
  • Highly self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and comfortable operating autonomously
