Grade 7/8: $116,981 - 129,492 pa plus superannuation and annual leave loading

Flexible work practices including work from home, 35-hour week and flex leave

Your role

The Investigator role in Reportable Conduct is essential in the investigation of allegations of reportable conduct against DCJ carers.  These investigations uphold the professional integrity of the department and lead to recommendations that improve safety and practice.

What you’ll do

You will undertake end-to-end investigations, including analysis and assessment of allegations of reportable conduct.

• You will work within statutory and legislative requirements and policies to determine the appropriate course of action for investigations.


• You will ensure processes, including the interviewing of children and young people, authorised carers, other adults and relevant professionals, are conducted in a thorough, ethical and professional manner.


• You will maintain accurate and transparent records of investigations and projects completed by the unit.


• You will write concise evidence-based investigation reports with detailed analysis to make accurate findings.


• You will liaise with district staff and management in making determinations and provide thorough advice and recommendations following an investigation.

What we’re looking for

• Tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated equivalent industry or professional experience in relevant area.


• Ability to work independently in a high-volume environment.


• Experience researching, reviewing and assessing relevant information to make informed decisions and recommendations based on evidence.


• Exceptional stakeholder collaboration skills.


• Excellent written and oral communication skills.


• Current driver’s licence as occasional travel will be required.
