Lawyer, Professional Indemnity

A growing national quasi \- in house insurance\-focused legal practice is seeking two lawyers to join its Melbourne team: a Special Counsel and a Junior Lawyer / Associate (1–4 PQE).

This practice operates on a unique model that allows lawyers to focus on genuine legal work — running matters end\-to\-end, appearing in proceedings, and advising insured clients directly — without billable hour targets or business development requirements.

The Work

• Professional indemnity matters across a range of professions
  




• Personal injury and liability claims
  




• Litigated and advisory work, managed end\-to\-end
  




• Direct client engagement and court exposure
  

About You

Special Counsel:

• Senior insurance lawyer with strong professional indemnity experience with personal injury
  




• Confident managing complex matters and providing strategic oversight
  




• Enjoys mentoring and contributing to team leadership
  

Junior Lawyer / Associate (1–4 PQE):

• Background in personal injury or litigation
  




• Strong drafting and analytical skills
  




• Keen to develop within a supportive, structured environment
