Responsibilities

Role Overview
Redpath is seeking an experienced Leading Hand Electrician to join the team at Federation Mine. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for supervising electrical maintenance activities, ensuring equipment reliability, and supporting safe and efficient underground mining operations.
Working closely with site leadership and maintenance teams, you will provide technical expertise, coordinate daily work activities, and drive a strong safety culture across the operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise underground electrical maintenance personnel
  • Coordinate planned and breakdown maintenance activities
  • Maintain and repair underground mobile and fixed plant electrical systems
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical faults efficiently
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and site standards
  • Allocate daily work tasks and monitor team performance
  • Complete maintenance reports, inspections, and documentation
  • Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
  • Assist in mentoring and developing apprentice and junior electricians
  • Promote a strong safety culture and adherence to site procedures


Qualifications

Requirements

  • Electrical Trade Qualification (essential)
  • Current Electrical Licence
  • Previous underground mining experience
  • Demonstrated leadership or Leading Hand experience
  • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with underground mobile plant and fixed infrastructure
  • Sound understanding of mining safety systems and compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Current driver's licence
  • Ability to work a 2/2 roster including day and night shift
