About the Role
We are seeking two part-time, teaching-focused academics to join the Discipline of Psychiatry within the Graduate School of Medicine.  One position will be based at Wollongong/Shellharbour Hospital and the other at Shoalhaven or Southern Highlands.

Both positions provide academic leadership in Psychiatry across the University of Wollongong's Doctor of Medicine (MD) program. The roles lead psychiatry curriculum development and delivery, contribute specialist expertise to assessment design, and support research and scholarly activity within the discipline.

The successful candidates will leverage their clinical and educational networks to expand medical student learning opportunities across local, rural and regional health settings. They will also work collaboratively with clinician educators and psychiatrists across MD training hubs, providing leadership to support a high-quality and consistent student learning experience.

Role Details

• Employment type: 2x Fixed-term | Part-time positions available (0.2 FTE, 7 hours per week, 2-years)
• Level B: $124,928 - $144,275 (pro-rata) + 17% Superannuation OR
• Level C: $151,746 - $171,141 (pro-rata) + 17% Superannuation
• Clinical Loading (if eligible)
• 1 position available at Wollongong Hospital/Shellharbour Hospital
• 1 position available at Shoalhaven or Southern Highlands
• Valid Australian work rights required.  Visa sponsorship is not available

Special Job Requirements

• Maintain unconditional medical registration as a psychiatrist, or medical registration on an advanced psychiatry training pathway
• Maintain ongoing clinical employment as an advanced trainee or consultant psychiatrist with ISLHD Northern Illawarra Hospitals Group
• This position has been classified as ‘child-related work”, more information is available within the position description.
• As this position requires attendance at Public Health Facilities, the position holder must comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases (PG1) Policy Directive (PD2024_015) 
• This position is subject to a National Criminal Check.

Appointment will be made at Lecturer (Level B) or Senior Lecturer (Level C), commensurate with qualifications and experience. Advanced Trainees will be appointed at Level B, while Fellows of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) will be appointed at Level C.
