# ABOUT THE ROLE\n\n \n\nThe Legal \u0026 Compliance Specialist (Fixed Term) plays a key role in providing legal and compliance support to the ANZ organisation.\n\nWorking closely with the Head of Legal \u0026 Compliance, this role supports proactive identification, assessment and management of legal and compliance risk, contributes to business\u2011critical legal reviews, and helps enable compliant, efficient and commercially\u2011sound outcomes for the ANZ business.\n\nThe role operates as a trusted business partner, combining legal judgement and compliance expertise with hands\u2011on project management, process optimisation and responsible use of AI to improve the effectiveness, efficiency and scalability of Legal \u0026 Compliance operations, working closely with the Head of Legal \u0026 Compliance, APAC and global colleagues.\n\n \n\n# WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?\n\n * Support the implementation of legal and compliance training, communication and monitoring frameworks to promote a strong compliance culture across the ANZ business.\n * Confidently deliver in\u2011person and virtual compliance training, as well as ongoing coaching, guidance and practical support to business stakeholders.\n * Support the operation of offshore compliance review teams by providing clear ANZ\u2011specific compliance guidance, responding to queries, and suggesting practical process and efficiency improvements.\n * Monitor changes to medical technology industry codes and relevant legal and regulatory requirements and assist with translating these into practical, locally\u2011relevant guidance.\n * Act as a Legal \u0026 Compliance business partner to the ANZ business, supporting compliant interactions with customers and third parties.\n * Review legal and commercial contracts and support business functions, including commercial eams, in assessing change management opportunities and improvements to legal processes (including contracting).\n * Support the review of promotional and external\u2011facing materials to identify legal and compliance risks and support appropriate mitigation.\n * Partner with cross\u2011functional teams (including Quality, Regulatory, Finance, Supply Chain and IT) to provide legal and compliance input under the direction of the Head of Legal \u0026 Compliance.\n * Support Legal \u0026 Compliance projects and global and regional initiatives impacting ANZ, including collaboration with APAC and global colleagues across time zones where required.\n * Contribute to process improvement, change management and the operationalisation of AI\u2011enabled and technology\u2011supported tools within Legal \u0026 Compliance.\n\n\n\n# KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIRED FOR SUCCESS \n\n \n\n * Relationship Building \\- Establishes and maintains strong relationships internally and externally. Takes risks to do what is right to achieve success.\n\n\n\n \n\n# SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS\n\n \n\n * Bachelor of Laws (LLB)\n * 2 \u2013 7+ years post admission experience\n * Admitted as a lawyer in Australia (or eligible for a practicing certificate)\n * Demonstrated experience advising regulated industries either in private practice or in-house\n * Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and awareness of when escalation is required\n * Practical experience with or demonstrated transferable skills to enable:\n * Compliance program enhancement and operation\n * Contract drafting, negotiation and risk assessment\n * Drafting and interpreting policies, procedures and internal controls\n * Interfacing with internal and external regulatory, auditors and industry bodies\n * Experience in the healthcare industry (Medical Device experience) is highly regarded but not essential\n * High level of accuracy and attention to detail\n\n\n\n \n\n \n\nRequisition ID: 628373\n
