About the Role:
As Library Social Worker, you'll be based across City of Salisbury Libraries and Community Centre sites, providing compassionate, practical support to people experiencing a range of social, health and wellbeing challenges. Working alongside library and customer-facing staff, you'll engage with customers, provide information and referrals, respond to people in crisis, and help connect them with the services they need.
You'll also collaborate with City of Salisbury staff to deliver community programs and information sessions, while building the confidence and capability of library teams to support customers with complex needs. This is a rewarding outreach role where you'll help create safe, welcoming community spaces and improve access to support for those who need it most.
Experience Requirements:
Demonstrated experience working with individuals with complex needs and challenging behaviours.
Demonstrated experience in supporting individuals through brief intervention strategies.
Demonstrated experience in crisis intervention.
Collaborative development of individualised strategies for clients with complex needs
Demonstrated ability to mentor others and increase their capability.
Demonstrated experience working within a fast-paced environment.
Experience in building and delivering training programs
Qualifications:
Tertiary qualification in Social Work which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
Other Requirements:
Current or willing to obtain a Working with Children's Check (WWCC)
Current or willing to obtain a National Police Check (NPC)
Employment is subject to compliance with Sonder’s Immunisation Policy. Applicants must hold, or be willing to obtain, all vaccinations and immunisations required for the role
