Machine Operator

• Operate and maintain equipment pertaining to the production of newspapers - this is a hands on role 
  


• Reel stand operation - working on stripping stations, monitoring machines, reporting faults and checking for product damage
  


• Working as part of a small team


• Liaison with internal departments in regards to electrical and mechanical faults


• Meeting KPI targets in regards to housekeeping and safety 
  


• Multi tasking and prioritising workload
  
  

Requirements

• Have experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment 
  


• Be able to work day shift Monday to Friday with varied start times eg: could be 7am, 8am or 9am with occasional earlier starts. Training will be performed on night shift for 2 to 3 weeks. 
  


• Have excellent time management skills & attention to detail 
  


• Have strong communication skills and be able to lead a small team 
  


• A strong safety focus as well as a strong focus on quality of work
  


• Be able to work autonomously and meet deadlines
