Description

Provide specialist advice, coordination and support on Maintenance Improvement by progressing Asset Management activities relating to Maintenance Work Design, Asset Information Management, ERP Asset Work Management improvements and Safe Work methods. This role will enable a more proactive Asset Management approach with emphasis on planned works and preventative maintenance in alignment with the Asset Management framework.  The role operates with a high degree of independence, influencing Asset Management outcomes through expertise, collaboration, governance and process leadership.

Position specific responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate safe and effective Maintenance work design methods that simplify work activities and optimise work with a focus on proactive maintenance across multiple stakeholders
• Support Asset Information Management including developing and maintaining documentation including inspection checklists, work instructions, strategies and bill of materials to ensure compliance
• Support ERP Asset Work Management Continuous Improvement activities including asset strategies and tactics in collaboration with the Engineering & Development team
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for ERP Maintenance and related Work Management Systems including providing technical advice and specialist support and education to users and stakeholders
• Identify, develop and implement Maintenance safety initiatives and continuous improvement initiatives for replication across multiple teams to enhance effectiveness and efficiency
• Conduct field audits, planned task observations and assurance activities on relevant planned work to identify improvement opportunities to promote knowledge sharing and continuous learning
• Prepare and distribute Asset Work Management reporting for key stakeholders including advice and recommendations to ensure Governance, Compliance and Safety Risks are well managed
• Independently plan, gather, interpret and prioritise diverse Maintenance improvement initiatives
• Work closely and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including Supervisors, Planner/Schedulers, Operational team and Business Unit Manager to achieve Business Unit Objectives
• Actively demonstrate Safety Leadership and facilitate the integration of the foundation tools and Safety Culture initiative within the team to establish an interdependent culture
• Maintain awareness of relevant current standards, guidelines, codes, and industry practices
• Participate in port emergency responses and associated training as directed to assist with successful restoration of the Port back to an operating capacity in the event of an emergency
• Contribute to the Port’s strategic plans including the Statement of Corporate Intent, Corporate Plan and Port Vision 2050
• Ensure appropriate health and safety, environmental management, quality and information security practices are implemented for all works to comply with the Port’s policies and relevant legislation
• Comply with all relevant legislation, codes of practice and standards
• Promote a Zero Harm culture and continual improvement in our Health and Safety management and performance
• Any other duties commensurate with level and accountabilities, or as directed by leadership.



Qualifications

Mandatory requirements/qualifications/tickets/licences:



  • Degree qualification in a relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent experience in Asset Management, Maintenance Management, Business Improvement, or a related field.

  • Current C Class Driver’s Licence

  • Pre-employment Medical - Functional 20kg.


 


Skills and experience:



  • Sound knowledge of Asset Management systems, delivery model and supporting framework

  • Sound knowledge of Asset Work Management process including workflow, transactional requirements and position responsibilities (identify, plan, scheduling, execute, complete and analyse work)

  • Sound knowledge of Asset Work Management Master Data elements and technical object structures

  • Demonstrated level of skill in planning, control and reporting of plant and equipment preventative maintenance activities and systems within a heavy engineering environment 

  • Sound knowledge of standards that impact equipment reliability including condition maintenance, precision maintenance, equipment storage and lubrication standards

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the operation, repair and servicing requirements of general plant and equipment including preventative maintenance principles 

  • Sound level of skill in analysing plant maintenance processes and procedures and suggesting initiatives that promote improved customer service 

  • Demonstrated ability to interpret engineering plans and manuals 

  • A working knowledge Workplace Health and Safety including hazard and risk management together with Environmental Acts and Regulations and Quality Systems 

  • Sound knowledge of Asset Management System configuration management, testing and implementation including modules and system modification requests and functional specifications

  • Operate with a high level of autonomy in planning, organising, and delivering work

  • Exercise professional judgement within established frameworks, standards, and guiding principles

  • High level of problem solving and organisation skills

  • Strong oral and written communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.


 


Software/Systems skills:



  • Advanced knowledge in the use of a CMMS (e.g. Oracle, SAP, TechOne or similar) and associated work management business processes

  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, SharePoint)

  • Intermediate knowledge in Document Management Systems.


 


Candidates will need to have, or have the ability to obtain the following qualifications/tickets/licences:



  • Maritime Security Identification Card (required within 3 months).


 


The following are not mandatory but are highly desirable:



  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Engineering (Technical, Maintenance, or Mechanical)

  • Certificate III in any Trade Discipline.
