Job Description - Manager - Workforce Design

Description

We’re all about helping our members make the most of their money. And while they go after their goals, you can too. As a Manager, Workforce Strategy, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how we build a future-ready workforce to deliver our strategy. You’ll translate business priorities, operating model shifts and external trends into clear workforce choices and practical actions that drive real impact.

You’ll lead enterprise workforce and skills strategy, ensuring we have the right capabilities, in the right roles, at the right time. Working closely with senior leaders, you’ll provide structure, insight and recommendations that influence decisions and elevate organisational performance.

You’ll also design and embed contemporary workforce planning approaches and organisational design initiatives that improve effectiveness, simplify structures and enable modern ways of working. With a strong focus on data and insights, you’ll guide a shift toward a more skills-based organisation and enable confident, evidence-based workforce decisions.

This role is a permanent opportunity and is based in Brisbane or Melbourne.

Responsibilities

Day to day, you'll:

  • Lead enterprise workforce strategy aligned to business priorities and execution.
  • Define future workforce needs, including critical roles, skills and emerging capabilities.
  • Deliver strategic workforce planning across forecasting, supply and demand, and gap analysis.
  • Develop actionable roadmaps to address workforce capability gaps.
  • Lead organisational design initiatives to improve performance and clarity.
  • Embed data-led, skills-based approaches to workforce decision-making.
  • Partner with senior leaders to influence workforce, capability and organisational outcomes.

Qualifications

It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:

  • You bring deep expertise in workforce strategy and long-term capability planning.
  • Your understanding of organisational design enables structures that drive performance.
  • You'll demonstrate knowledge of future of work trends, including AI and automation.
  • You're experienced in leading complex, enterprise-wide workforce initiatives.
  • You have applied skills-based workforce approaches and capability frameworks.
  • Your background connects workforce strategy with broader talent and learning strategies.
  • You bring strong stakeholder engagement and project management experience.
  • You hold tertiary qualifications in business, HR, organisational psychology or a related field.
  • You'll have postgraduate or professional certifications in workforce planning or organisational design (desirable).
