Job Description - Managing Principal

Description:

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Corporate and Commercial team at Marsh as a Managing Principal working in our Adelaide office.  This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office. 

Managing Principal – Corporate & Commercial

We will count on you to:

  • Manage a portfolio of key accounts, ensuring exceptional client service and strong, long-term relationships.

  • Lead, develop, and manage a team of Senior Account Executives, Account Executives, and support staff through effective communication, delegation, and performance management.

  • Drive the achievement of team business plans, revenue targets, and profit objectives while maintaining strict budget control.

  • Oversee renewal and broking strategies, claims management, and client retention initiatives to exceed performance targets.

  • Collaborate with insurers and leverage Marsh’s national and global resources to maximise client value and business growth.

What you need to have:

  • Professional accreditation such as Tier 1 FSRA Compliance, Associate membership of The Institute, and admission as a Qualified Practising Insurance Broker (NIBA).

  • Strong knowledge of insurance products, relevant legislation (Insurance Contracts Act, Trade Practices Act, etc.), and industry best practices.

  • Proven experience in managing key accounts and leading high-performing teams within the insurance or financial services sector.

  • Excellent negotiation, influencing, problem-solving, and delegation skills.

  • Commitment to quality, compliance, and continuous professional development.

  • Experience working in the Faith and Education practice and Healthcare / Disability Services.

  • Degree or diploma in Insurance, Financial Services, or a related field.

  • Demonstrated ability to innovate and implement new approaches to improve processes and client outcomes.

  • Strong commercial acumen with a proactive approach to identifying and capitalising on revenue growth opportunities.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of building meaningful relationships with clients and insurers.

  • A motivated self-starter who thrives in a dynamic, client-focused environment.
