About the role

Project Support – Maritime Advisory, PMCA & Maritime Design

  • Providing high‑quality advisory support across Maritime domain projects, including planning, risk assessment, performance reporting, and project documentation.
  • Supporting PMCA (Project Management & Contract Administration) activities, ensuring compliance with Defence or other Government processes, frameworks, and assurance requirements.
  • Contributing to maritime design project phases, including concept development, design reviews, and integration of stakeholder inputs.
  • Coordinating technical and non‑technical information between engineering, project management, and commercial teams.
  • Assisting with project scheduling, milestones, deliverables, and progress tracking.
  • Ensuring all outputs meet Commonwealth quality, security, and governance standards.

Development of Functional Requirements & Business Cases

  • Leading or contributing to the development of functional and technical requirements for maritime capability initiatives.
  • Conducting needs analysis, gap assessments, and solution option analysis to inform decision‑making.
  • Preparing business cases aligned with Defence Capability Life Cycle (CLC) frameworks and relevant policy guidance.
  • Supporting the creation of cost estimates, benefits assessments, and risk evaluations for capability proposals.
  • Ensuring documentation is clear, defensible, and supports approval pathways through Defence committees.

Stakeholder Management & Engagement

  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with Defence stakeholders across SEG, Navy, NSSG, CASG, industry partners, and internal teams.
  • Facilitating workshops, consultations, and briefings to gather input and ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Representing the organisation in stakeholder forums, working groups, and governance meetings.
  • Managing expectations, resolving issues, and ensuring timely communication of project updates and decisions.
  • Preparing stakeholder-facing materials, including presentations, reports, and strategic communications
