Job Description - Mathematics Teacher and Content Developer

ABOUT THE ROLE:


This role is responsible for the creation of digital materials to supplement student learning of the Papua New Guinea FODE (Flexible Open Distance Education) Mathematics Curriculum from Grades 7–12. The role will involve working in Canva and Moodle, mapping the curriculum, creating digital and video lesson content, and developing revision guides and assessment support materials.


The Mathematics Teacher and Content Developer will work collaboratively with the Program Manager and broader education team to ensure all resources are engaging, curriculum-aligned, culturally appropriate, and accessible for diverse student learning contexts.



RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Develop engaging mathematics learning resources aligned to the Papua New Guinea curriculum for Grades 7–12.

  • Create digital lesson content including presentations, videos, revision guides, and interactive activities.

  • Produce and edit instructional video lessons and supporting learning materials.

  • Map curriculum outcomes, competencies, and assessment requirements across grade levels.

  • Upload and manage learning materials within Moodle or other Learning Management Systems.

  • Design visually engaging educational resources using Canva and related digital tools.

  • Collaborate with curriculum and teaching staff to ensure consistency and quality of content.

  • Review and update existing materials to maintain curriculum relevance and accuracy.

  • Ensure resources are accessible, student-friendly, and appropriate for online and blended learning environments.

  • Participate in planning meetings, progress reporting, and feedback sessions with the Program Manager.

  • Maintain organised digital files and documentation of curriculum resources and development processes.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives relating to digital learning and curriculum delivery.



SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES:



  • Have a teaching qualification for Mathematics in secondary education, or in the final stages of obtaining this.

  • Demonstrated understanding of secondary mathematics curriculum and pedagogy.

  • Experience creating educational resources for secondary students.

  • Be confident in ICT including; Google Suite, Canva, and online learning platforms such as
    Moodle.

  • Strong written communication and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Creative and innovative approach to digital learning design.

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.

  • Experience/comfort with video creation and presenting to camera.

  • Understanding of culturally responsive and inclusive educational practices is desirable.

  • Have the right to work in Australia.

  • Experience working with Javascript/H5P is a pro.
