 • Creating CAD models, manufacturing drawings and technical documentation

 • Developing and executing laboratory and bench test plans, analysing data and documenting verification results

 • Supporting hardware design reviews and translating concepts into clear engineering specifications

 • Building automated test capability using scripting tools (e.g. Python) and developing embedded systems knowledge

 • Working safely within laboratory and biosecurity environments while maintaining rigorous documentation and traceability

 • Collaborating with internal researchers and supporting technical reviews of externally developed designs

We're looking for engineers with:

✔ A degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical or a related engineering discipline

✔ Approximately 2–4 years' engineering experience (including internships, placements or graduate projects)

✔ Practical experience with CAD, electromechanical assembly, wiring, debugging and prototype development

✔ Strong technical documentation and problem-solving skills

✔ An interest in verification & validation, product development and engineering for regulated or safety-critical environments

Why join WMP?

 - Work on engineering solutions with global public health impact.

 - Be part of a collaborative team where you'll gain exposure across mechanical, electrical and embedded engineering.

 - Grow your technical capability while contributing to innovative product development and applied research.

 - Collaborate with experts across engineering, science and operations to develop scalable technologies that can protect communities around the world.

Location & Working Arrangements

  • Location: Based in Clayton, Melbourne with a flexible hybrid working model.

  • Global Collaboration: As a global organisation, candidates will need to demonstrate flexibility to accommodate occasional meetings outside standard Melbourne business hours.
