Medical Imaging Technologist/ Radiographer

PURPOSE OF POSITION  To provide optimal radiographic imaging and related services for specialised procedures within the CVIL, in accordance with radiation safety and Hospital standards

Clinical/Technical Practice :

Programs and operates radiographic and associated fixed and mobile equipment to provide optimal diagnostic and interventional imaging, in accordance with the requirements of each consultant. View, analyse and modify images to optimize information in collaboration with the consultant. Evaluates and recommends new techniques and procedures in collaboration with clinical caregivers and consultants. Participates in the roster and on-call system to ensure continuous cover to the department. Supervises the activities of caregivers, with regards to radiographic practice ensuring compliance with requirements of Work, Health & Safety, Radiation Safety and other legislation relevant to Medical Imaging, as directed by Perioperative Services Manager.

SELECTION CRITERIA Essential

• A willingness and capacity to embrace the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care. Registration with Radiological Council VIC. Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Imaging) or equivalent.

• Significant experience within the CVIL setting. Highly developed interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

• Demonstrated ability to effectively work within the multidisciplinary team.

• Demonstrated advanced written and verbal communication. Working knowledge of computer information technology. Knowledge of Work, Health & Safety Legislation.
