About the role:

Manage a diverse portfolio of contentious and non-contentious workplace matters while advising corporate clients on practical and commercially focused employment solutions. Your work will include:

• Employment contracts, workplace policies, procedures and other employment documentation.


• Advising on employment legislation, modern awards, enterprise agreements and regulatory obligations.


• Workplace investigations, disciplinary matters, performance management and termination advice.


• Discrimination, harassment, bullying and workplace health and safety matters.


• Employment litigation and dispute resolution before courts, tribunals and regulatory bodies.


• Preparing legal advice, correspondence, submissions and court documents.


• Running independent files while working alongside senior practitioners on more complex litigation and advisory matters.


• Conducting employment due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, business sales and corporate restructures.


• Advising on employee transfers, consultation obligations and workforce integration issues arising from transactions.


• Reviewing and assisting with transaction documents including business and share sale agreements, service agreements, confidentiality agreements and commercial contracts.


• Identifying and managing employment-related risks within commercial transactions.

The ideal candidate:

• Have 1–3 years’ PQE, ideally gained within employment, workplace relations or a related disputes practice.


• Ideally have commercial and litigation experience (not essential).


• Strong written and verbal communication skills and good attention to detail.


• Commercially minded, approachable and keen to take on increasing responsibility.
