Job Description - Occupational Therapist - Adult Mental Health Caseload

Company Description

Welcome to Ability Action Australia!

We are one of the largest providers to the NDIS, with a multi-disciplinary team approach, tailored to the needs and goals of our participants and their family.

Job Description

We’re seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our South Perth team, with a strong focus on adult psychosocial practice. In this role, you’ll support individuals with mental health challenges and complex needs to build independence, enhance wellbeing, and increase community participation through evidence-based, recovery-oriented interventions.

You’ll be part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, with the opportunity to shape your caseload in line with your expertise and interests. While the primary focus is adult psychosocial, there is flexibility to incorporate other areas if desired.

What keeps things interesting is the mix of metro and regional work options available. You’ll have the opportunity to work across different settings and communities, giving you real variety in how you deliver support and the participants you work with.

For those who enjoy a bit of travel, there are also optional FIFO opportunities to Kalgoorlie, Geraldton and Port Hedland, a great way to broaden your experience with travel and accommodation organised and supported by our team!

ABOUT US

We’re a national therapy services provider helping NDIS participants, kids, teens and adults live their best everyday lives.

We’re supportive, very passionate, and big believers in:

✔ 1:1 Weekly supervision that actually happens

✔ Growth without burnout

✔ Teams who lift each other up

What We Offer You:

  • Work flexibility – Full-time or part-time – it's up to you.
  • Excellent remuneration – Industry leading salary + salary packaging options + car allowance + laptop + smartphone + bonus opportunities.
  • Work-Life Balance – Enjoy a mix of working from home, in the community, and in-office or clinic hours
  • Leave Options – Ability to purchase additional leave, plus a generous staff referral scheme
  • Continuous Professional Development – PD allowance, tailored training, and ongoing development with AAA and our parent company, MedHealth
  • Passionate and positive culture – Be part of a purpose-driven team that believes in your development and in making a difference.

Your Role:

As an OT in our team, you’ll make a meaningful difference through:

  • Managing a caseload that aligns with your areas of interest
  • Conducting clinical assessments across emotional, psychological, cognitive, developmental, and physical functions
  • Developing individualised, evidence-based therapy goals and interventions
  • Providing environmental modification advice for homes, schools, workplaces and residential settings
  • Recommending and facilitating Assistive Technology (AT) to promote independence
  • Staying compliant with current legislation and NDIS guidelines
  • Working collaboratively within a supportive, multidisciplinary team

    • A proactive, client-centred mindset with a desire to innovate and grow
    • A genuine passion for working in the disability and community sector
    • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively
