One‑on‑One or Small‑Group Pet Therapy Visits, Residential Care, Woy Woy

Job Description - One‑on‑One or Small‑Group Pet Therapy Visits, Residential Care, Woy Woy

One‑on‑One or Small‑Group Pet Therapy Visits

Bring comfort, connection, and pure joy to residents in aged care by sharing the company of your friendly dog or gentle, tame bird or rabbit. This ongoing pet‑therapy role invites volunteers to move room‑to‑room and spend time in common spaces, offering residents the chance to enjoy the warmth, calm, and companionship that only animals can bring.

Your visits create beautiful moments — a wagging tail, a soft feathered friend, a quiet cuddle, or a shared smile. Many residents light up when they see an animal, and your presence helps spark conversation, reduce loneliness, and bring a sense of comfort and connection.

If you have a well‑behaved pet who loves people and enjoys gentle interactions, this role offers a meaningful way to brighten someone’s day, again and again.

Your impact

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.
