Operational Resilience Manager

Job Description - Operational Resilience Manager

Description

We’re all about helping our members make the most of their money. And while they go after their goals, you can too. As a Operational Resilience Manager, you'll play a key role in supporting and delivering activities across our organisational resilience program. You'll work collaboratively with teams across the business to strengthen resilience capability, embed CPS230 Operational Risk Management requirements, enhance business continuity outcomes, and lead the ongoing maturity of incident and crisis management practices across the organisation.

You'll provide expertise and guidance across resilience, incident response, crisis preparedness and recovery activities, ensuring the organisation remains equipped to effectively manage business disruptions and significant incidents. You'll join a team focused on creating practical, sustainable resilience solutions that protect members and support long term success.

You'll have the opportunity to influence enterprise-wide resilience practices, contribute to strategic initiatives, engage with senior stakeholders, and help shape the ongoing evolution of resilience, continuity, incident management, and crisis preparedness across the organisation.

This role is a permanent opportunity and is based in Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne.

Responsibilities

Day to day, you'll:

  • Support the delivery of enterprise operational resilience initiatives and capabilities across the organisation.
  • Lead, coordinate and contribute to activities that embed and sustain CPS230 Operational Risk Management requirements.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to deliver business impact assessments, continuity planning reviews and testing activities.
  • Coordinate and lead incident management activities, ensuring effective governance, escalation and response processes are maintained.
  • Support and facilitate crisis response and recovery activities during disruptive events, providing guidance and coordination across stakeholder groups.
  • Maintain and continuously improve incident and crisis management frameworks, processes, plans and supporting tools.
  • Coordinate crisis simulation exercises and resilience testing activities to strengthen organisational preparedness and response capability.
  • Develop strong working relationships to drive continuous improvement across the resilience program.
  • Provide guidance on disruption risk management, risk mitigation strategies and resilience best practice.
  • Support governance activities, reporting, audits, resilience testing exercises and crisis management preparedness.
  • Monitor emerging risks and opportunities to strengthen organisational resilience capability.
  • Contribute to change, innovation and continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation.

Qualifications

It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:

  • You hold a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • Your experience includes operational resilience, business continuity, incident management and crisis management.
  • You'll bring demonstrated experience leading or coordinating responses to significant operational incidents or business disruptions.
  • You're experienced working within a regulated environment.
  • You have strong knowledge of incident response, crisis management frameworks and organisational resilience principles.
  • Your experience includes facilitating crisis simulations, business continuity exercises or organisational resilience testing activities.
  • You'll be skilled at identifying the impacts of change and implementing effective solutions.
  • You're able to operate calmly, make sound decisions and influence stakeholders during high-pressure or rapidly evolving situations.
  • You ideally have knowledge of APRA regulations, CPS230 and operational resilience requirements.
  • Your approach to problem solving is practical, collaborative and outcome focused.
