About the role


The Paralegal Officer provides legal, clerical and administrative support to legal officers and other staff within Legal Services.


 


This is an opportunity to gain practical experience across a broad range of legal practice areas within one of Australia's largest public education systems, working alongside experienced legal professionals and contributing to matters that have a direct impact on NSW public education.

About you


This role would be suitable for current law students, emerging legal professionals and experienced paralegal/legal support professionals wanting a career within the NSW Government.


 



  • For law students: Previous legal experience desirable but not essential, strong attention to detail, sound judgement, excellent communication, willingness to learn and interest in legal work.

  • For non-law students: Relevant legal experience required, capable of carrying out legal administrative tasks, including research, correspondence, handling of confidential information, and ability to work with a wide range of legal professionals.


 


The ideal candidate is organised, reliable, and detail-oriented; communicates clearly and professionally; handles sensitive information with discretion; and is eager to learn and develop legal skills. They are skilled in research and accurate writing, work collaboratively, and can effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines, while demonstrating a strong commitment to providing high-quality service.
