We are currently partnering with a well-established organisation to recruit a Payroll Accountant to join their finance team.
This role will suit someone with strong end-to-end payroll experience who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and can confidently manage both payroll and accounting responsibilities.
Key responsibilities:
Processing end-to-end fortnightly payroll for approximately 250 employees
Managing payroll administration across multiple systems, including onboarding, time and attendance and payroll processing
Ensuring payroll compliance with Awards, EBAs, legislation and company policies
Handling payroll queries and resolving payroll discrepancies
Preparing payroll journals, reconciliations and statutory reporting
Supporting month-end activities, including accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations
Maintaining the fixed asset register and performing daily bank reconciliations
Providing backup support to accounts payable when required
Assisting with payroll system improvements and process efficiencies
The successful candidate will have:
Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing
Experience in accounting functions such as reconciliations, journals, accruals, and month-end reporting
Strong systems aptitude and the ability to work across multiple payroll and finance platforms
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
A proactive, self-sufficient approach with strong problem-solving abilities
Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
