Job Description - PAYROLL OFFICER - APPLY NOW! START IN MID JANUARY 2025

Our client, a well-known and respected business in the western suburbs seeks an experienced Payroll Officer to commence mid-January 2025. Reporting to the Business Manager your key responsibilities will include the accurate and timely processing of payroll functions. This role ensures compliance with all relevant legislation and employment requirements, including managing fortnightly payroll, superannuation payments, ATO obligations, union payments, and various employee entitlements. Along with managing salary sacrifice arrangements, novated lease deductions, parental leave, annual leave, long service leave, sick leave entitlements, and Workcover claims. Additionally,  you'll be involved in maintaining electronic payroll records and induction, performing bank and general ledger reconciliations, managing bank payments, submitting staff census details, and handling payroll accruals and staff queries.

 

Skills and experience:

  • Certificate, diploma or degree in payroll, accounting, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in payroll processing, preferably in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Experience with electronic record-keeping systems and data management.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform bank and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Knowledge and experience in managing payroll accruals and submitting staff census details.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

  • Reliable & Inquisitive with great interpersonal skills
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to assist in other areas of the business if need be
  • Ability to interpret various awards
  • Great organizational skills with respect to deadlines
  • Good attention to detail
  • Full working rights, and be willing to obtain both WWC, and National Police Check (Services Australia).
