Payroll Officer | Permanent

The Company

Robert Half has partnered exclusively with a highly recognised manufacturing company in the Melbourne inner eastern suburbs in search of a stand-alone payroll officer with plans to grow the team over time

This role is open to candidates of all levels, however, will be most suitable to someone ambitious, determined to improve their craft and comfortable adapting to new and evolving systems and processes.

This role will provide hands on support from the finance team and so a great opportunity for someone to adopt sole responsibility of the payroll function for an exciting and well recognised company.

This role will suit a candidate with experience processing and managing payroll time sheets, processing fortnightly and monthly pays and comfortable with various and complex awards - primarily that linked to manufacturing.

This role is 5 days onsite however offers a highly sought after team dynamic where everyone works together to achieve company goals.

The Role

Reporting through to the Financial Controller, duties in this role will include:

• Process end-to-end payroll accurately and on time
• Maintain employee records and payroll data
• Monitor payroll tax thresholds and obligations
• Process superannuation contributions
• New starters and terminations
• Manage leave accruals and entitlements
• Ensure compliance with awards and legislation
• Respond to payroll queries and resolve issues

Your Profile

• Experience in end-to-end payroll processing
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and awards
• Familiar with payroll tax obligations and lodgements
• Proficient with prior large scale payroll/HRIS systems (Advanced Excel also highly advantageous)
• High accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and stakeholder service skills
• Organised with strong time-management abilities
