The Opportunity
Moonee Valley City Council is seeking a Planning and Building Support Officer to join our City Development team. In this role, you will provide high-quality administrative and operational support across Council’s Statutory Planning, Building, Enforcement and Subdivision services, helping to deliver efficient processes and positive outcomes for our customers. This is a varied role where no two days are quite the same. You will work across a range of administrative functions, supporting the team to meet statutory timeframes, maintain accurate records and data, respond to customer enquiries and ensure planning and building services operate effectively.

The ideal candidate will have strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a high-volume, customer-focused environment. You will demonstrate excellent attention to detail and the ability to accurately process, maintain and retrieve information across multiple systems while ensuring data integrity and quality outcomes. Strong computer and digital literacy, including experience using Microsoft Office applications and the ability to quickly learn new business systems and technologies, is essential. You will bring well-developed problem-solving skills, initiative and a proactive approach to identifying issues, improving processes and resolving customer and administrative matters. A Certificate III in Business Administration, or experience in Local Government, Planning, Building or Subdivision administration, will be highly regarded but is not essential. Knowledge of Pathway and TRIM, and/or experience in planning, building, subdivision or enforcement environments, will also be advantageous.
