Planning Officer

We're seeking a Planning Officer to join our Regulatory Services team on a 10-month maternity leave contract. Whether you're a recent planning graduate looking to start your career or an experienced planner seeking a new challenge, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

As a Planning Officer, you will:

• Assess and process a range of development applications.
• Provide planning and development advice to applicants and community members.
• Undertake site inspections and contribute to development assessment outcomes.
• Prepare reports and recommendations for decision-making.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, government agencies, applicants, and the community.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

• Has a positive attitude and enjoys working with people.
• Is eager to learn and contribute to a team environment.
• Communicates clearly and professionally.
• Demonstrates initiative, sound judgement and a customer-focused approach.
• Holds a qualification in Urban and Regional Planning or a related discipline.
• Experience in development assessment is desirable but not essential. We welcome applications from graduates, early-career planners, and experienced professionals alike.

Salary range is between $95,585 and $108,312 plus superannuation guarantee and will be negotiated commensurate with skills, experience and qualifications.
