The Executive Director of Catholic Education Western Australia Limited (CEWA) invites applications for the Principalship role at St Kieran Catholic Primary School based in Tuart Hill commencing 1 January 2027. 

School Profile

St Kieran Catholic Primary School, Tuart Hill, is a co-educational Catholic primary school located close to the Perth CBD, catering for more than 480 students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6. Established in 1920 by the Sisters of Mercy, the school has grown from its early beginnings of two Sisters teaching 100 students into a vibrant and well-established learning community.

The school is committed to delivering a comprehensive teaching and learning program that supports all students to achieve their personal best. A range of support and extension opportunities are available, including a strong commitment to students with disabilities. An Educational Support Centre provides targeted intervention programs across both mainstream and specialised settings.

St Kieran is also home to the only Early Intervention Centre within the Western Australian Catholic education system. The centre supports children aged three to six years with disabilities who are enrolled in Catholic schools and works in partnership with families to support early development and learning.

Guided by the charism of the Sisters of Mercy, the school's mission is to inspire a love of learning, personal excellence and a faith-filled commitment to justice. • Strategic leader with strong organisational and financial capability, able to progress capital development, manage growth, and steward specialised facilities such as the Ciaran Centre.


• Leader of a positive and sustainable staff culture, promoting wellbeing, professional growth, shared leadership, and effective use of resources.

General Criteria

• Demonstrated commitment to Catholic Education and the mission, identity, and traditions of the school.


• Proven leadership experience, with strong expertise in inclusive education and complex school environments.

Selection Criteria:

• Practising Catholic and experienced educator committed to Catholic Education.


• Accredited for Leadership of a Catholic School Community or equivalent.


• A collaborative and future-focused leader who understands and supports the strategic priorities of the broader Catholic Education system. 


• A relevant Master’s degree (or working towards completion) with the ability to apply advanced leadership and management principles to both the day-to-day and long-term leadership of a school is highly desirable.


• Current Teacher Registration for Western Australia (TRBWA).


• Current WA Working with Children Check (WA WWCC).
