We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to support a large Education & Students portfolio within a complex, service-led organisation. The role focusses on delivering student-centred initiatives outside the classroom, spanning student administration, engagement, and student life.
This is a business-facing role, embedded within Student Experience teams, with a strong emphasis on practical delivery and continuous improvement.

The opportunity
This role sits within a busy delivery environment running a high volume of concurrent initiatives. Rather than large, end-to-end transformations, the work consists of smaller, sprint-based projects (typically around $1m in value) that collectively have a significant impact on the student experience.
Many initiatives are long-term in nature, with delivery horizons extending multiple years. While some challenges relate to existing systems, these projects are not purely system-led. The focus is on improving how services operate, simplifying processes, and identifying opportunities for targeted system enhancements where they add value.
You'll operate across service delivery and ICT, acting as a bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams, while remaining clearly business-aligned.

You'll be responsible for delivering strategic improvement initiatives across:

• Student administration
• Student engagement
• Student life and experience

This includes continuous improvement work, service design, and exploration of new operating models for delivering student services more effectively.

What we're looking for
This role is ideally suited to someone who understands higher education environments and how student services operate in practice.
You'll bring:

• Experience working within universities or higher education (highly desirable)
• Strong understanding of student administration and student experience contexts
• Solid project delivery fundamentals, including governance and reporting
• Confidence managing multiple workstreams and complex stakeholders
• A flexible, collaborative working style

Team and environment
You'll work closely with Student Experience leadership and delivery teams. Project Officers and Business Analysts support delivery through a dotted-line relationship, and work is allocated based on skills and experience rather than rigid structures.
