Got a bit of spare time and happy to share a chat? This community volunteering role is all about mateship, company, and being thereâhelping an older gent feel connected, heard, and part of the community.

Heâs easyâgoing, down to earth, and enjoys the simple things in life. He values good company and a relaxed visit where thereâs no pressureâjust time spent together and a friendly face.

What he enjoys:

Fishing and talking all things outdoors

Gardening and pottering around the house

Spending time on the computer

Kicking back with Netflix

Being around animals

If you enjoy a laidâback chat, donât mind getting your hands a little dirty in the garden, or just want to be a steady presence for someone, this role is a great way to make a real differenceâwithout needing any special skills.

Your impact

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help older people feel less isolated. Your visits will bring great joy to the client you are matched with.

HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community.

Requirements

18 years or older â¢ National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare â¢

One hour visits for 6 months or longer. We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time Between Monday to Sunday 9am to 5pm for an hour or so visit.
