We work alongside operational teams to translate reliability, standardised work, and continuous improvement principles into practical, measurable outcomes that improve safety, availability, and productivity.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Reliability & Continuous Improvement Specialist to support a Pilbara\-based mining operation on an initial 6\-month engagement. This role will work closely with site leadership, maintenance, and operations teams to improve the reliability and performance of assets through structured continuous improvement practices.

This is a hands\-on, site\-based role suited to someone with strong mining experience who can balance analytical rigour with practical, on\-the\-ground delivery.

Purpose of the Role

The Reliability & Continuous Improvement Specialist will support site teams to improve asset reliability, reduce variability, and embed standardised work across mining operations. The role focuses on delivering sustainable improvements through the application of Lean, Six Sigma, and reliability\-based improvement techniques.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop, document, and implement standardised work for operational and maintenance activities.

  • Apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to identify waste, variability, and performance constraints.

  • Support reliability improvement initiatives across mining operations.

  • Work directly with operations and maintenance teams to identify root causes of downtime and inefficiency.

  • Facilitate observations, workshops, and improvement sessions with frontline crews and supervisors.

  • Track improvement initiatives and report on outcomes, benefits, and performance metrics.

  • Prepare clear, concise reports and documentation for site and client stakeholders.

  • Communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, from operators to senior leadership.

What We’re Looking For

  • Demonstrated experience in reliability, continuous improvement, or operational excellence roles within mining environments.

  • Strong exposure to operations & maintenance.

  • Proven ability to develop and embed standardised work.

  • Practical working knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation.

  • High\-quality written communication and reporting capability.

  • Willingness and ability to work on site on an 8/6 roster in the Pilbara.

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Mining industry experience (operations or maintenance).

  • Experience supporting or leading reliability or continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Exposure to plant performance, availability, or maintenance.

  • Strong problem\-solving and analytical capability.

  • Ability to translate improvement frameworks into practical, site\-ready solutions.

Desirable Experience & Skills

  • Formal Lean or Six Sigma certification.

  • Experience with reliability tools such as RCA, Pareto analysis, or failure mode analysis.

  • Experience working directly with frontline crews and supervisors in operational environments.

  • Exposure to asset management or maintenance planning functions.

Key Attributes for Success

  • Practical, delivery\-focused mindset.

  • Strong site presence and credibility with operations and maintenance teams.

  • Ability to build trust quickly in remote and high\-risk environments.

  • Comfortable challenging existing practices constructively.

  • Strong focus on achieving measurable, sustainable performance improvements.
