Publishing & Marketing Coordinator | Part -Time | Remote | Independent Publisher

Our partner: Our partner is an established independent Melbourne -based publisher with an international reach. They work with authors and researchers from around the world and have built a strong reputation for producing highly respected books and journals. As they continue to grow, they're embracing innovation, collaboration, and expansion into new publishing categories to reach new audiences and markets.
Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of the organisation’s WordPress website following relaunch, managing content updates, plugins, troubleshooting, and ongoing improvements.
- Create engaging marketing content across social media channels while producing high -quality branded digital and print materials.
- Coordinate publicity activity by supporting book launches, media outreach, and promotional campaigns for new and existing publications.
- Manage National eDeposit processes, ensuring accurate metadata, legal compliance, and timely submissions.
- Support business operations by maintaining sales reporting, inventory records, and other administrative tasks that keep the organisation running smoothly.
Experience and skills that will deliver success in this role: The successful candidate will be a proactive and detail -focused marketing and/or publicity professional who enjoys balancing creative work with technical and administrative responsibilities. You’ll be comfortable working independently in a remote environment, taking ownership of your workload and building trusted working relationships across the business.
Essential:
- Experience managing WordPress websites and content management systems.
- Strong design skills using Canva or Adobe InDesign.
- Excellent written English with the ability to produce engaging marketing and promotional content.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail when handling data, administration, and compliance tasks.
- Ability to manage priorities independently while maintaining consistent quality across multiple projects.
Desirable:
- Experience working within publishing, education, or a content -led organisation.
- Knowledge of social media scheduling and digital marketing campaigns.
- Experience supporting promotional events, product launches, or media outreach.
- Familiarity with inventory management, reporting, or sales administration.
- Understanding of digital publishing or legal deposit processes.
- Can start early August.

What’s on offer:
- Expected minimum first -year salary of $12,740, increasing to $14,560 per annum thereafter (based on $28 per hour), with genuine potential for increased hours and remuneration as the role and workload evolve.
- Working pattern: Permanent part -time role starting at 5 hours per week during onboarding, increasing to 10 hours per week after the initial phase, with flexibility over when hours are worked across the week.
