Employment type – Temporary full time


Salary – $84,659 - $92,701 plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading


 


Your role


 


Join the Industrial Relations Commission (IRC) and support the delivery of high-quality legal outcomes across New South Wales. This is a great opportunity for an early-career legal professional to build hands-on experience, working directly with Commissioners and contributing to meaningful decisions that impact workplaces and communities. You’ll apply your legal research skills in a highly respected tribunal environment while developing strong professional capability


 


What you’ll do


 


As part of the Industrial Relations Commission, you will provide legal research and analytical support to Commissioners.


You will also


 



  • Conduct legal research, including analysing case law and interpreting legislation

  • Assist in drafting speeches, presentations and legal materials

  • Proofread and edit documents to support high-quality outputs

  • Prepare and maintain statistical information, including contributions to annual reporting

  • Respond to complex legal and procedural enquiries

  • Build effective stakeholder relationships across internal and external networks


 


You’ll work in a collaborative and professional environment, supporting senior decision-makers and contributing to outcomes that uphold fairness and integrity in the industrial relations system


 


What we’re looking for


 



  • Completed legal qualifications with demonstrated knowledge of legal research methodologies

  • Experience undertaking legal research, including analysis of legislation and case law 

  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to present clear, concise information

  • Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and integrity
