About the role 




As a Rostering & Payroll Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the department is appropriately staffed and payroll processes are accurate and timely. Working closely with Managers, Coordinators, Team Leaders and other key stakeholders, you will plan, coordinate and schedule shifts, ensuring rostering requirements are understood and met.


You will be responsible for accurately preparing and entering payroll data into the electronic payroll system and ensuring submissions are completed within organisational timeframes. The role also provides broader administrative support across HR and rostering functions, contributing to the smooth and efficient operation of the department.




 




Key Responsibilities



  • Coordinate and maintain accurate team rosters, including filling planned and emergent vacancies and ensuring adequate shift coverage

  • Support timely and accurate fortnightly payroll processing, validating payroll data, responding to enquiries and maintaining relevant records and systems

  • Provide responsive administrative support across Environmental Services, using effective communication, support staff onboarding, orientation and contracts documentation as directed


 



 


What we’re looking for 




  • Demonstrated experience in rostering and/or payroll, preferably within a large or complex healthcare environment, with the ability to interpret and apply relevant agreements and entitlements

  • Strong computer literacy and confidence using electronic payroll, rostering and scheduling systems, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities and contribute positively both independently and as part of a team
