About our school
St John's College is a Catholic secondary learning community established by the Good Samaritan Sisters in 1940. St. John is well known for excellence in Academic pursuits, Dramatic and Musical presentations, sporting success in rugby, netball, cross country and athletics, and community service programs. Support teaching and learning activities at St John's College within our Industrial Technology and Design (ITD) workshop. Work under the direction of the ITD secondary teacher and assist with practical learning activities, workshop preparation, resource management and mantaining a safe learning environment.
In this position you will be responsible for:
• Provide general classroom and workshop support to teachers and students during practical and theory lessons.
• Assist with the operation, maintenance, and routine servicing of workshop tools, machines, and equipment.
• Prepare, organise, and pack away tools, equipment, materials, and learning resources.
• Assist with the preparation of timber, metal, and other materials for student projects.
• Support students in the safe use of workshop equipment under teacher supervision.
• Monitor and maintain workshop consumables, materials, and stock levels.
• Ensure tools, equipment, and workspaces are clean, organised, and ready for use.
• Assist in maintaining compliance with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements
• Maintain appropriate storage systems for flammable materials, chemicals, and workshop supplies.
• Undertake administrative tasks such as photocopying, filing, stock ordering, and record keeping as required.
• Contribute to a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment for all students.
