Senior Actuarial Analyst

About the Role

Join the Model Activate and Analytics team within Consumer Insurance Pricing and Analytics. You will deliver end-to-end data and modelling solutions that improve risk selection and support sustainable portfolio outcomes. Working with Portfolio, Finance, Claims Operations and pricing teams, you will turn complex analysis into clear recommendations. You will also implement scalable solutions within pricing systems, establish performance monitoring and explore new data sources, rating factors and modelling techniques.

What You'll Do

• Identify and prioritise risk selection initiatives using data insights and stakeholder input

• Investigate portfolio opportunities and recommend strategies that balance growth, profitability and risk

• Deliver and implement robust, scalable risk selection solutions within pricing systems

• Design monitoring frameworks and dashboards that measure initiative performance

• Translate analytical findings into clear reports and practical business recommendations

• Evaluate emerging data sources, rating factors and predictive modelling approaches

What You'll Bring

• Hold a bachelor’s degree in data science, statistics, mathematics, computer science, actuarial studies or another quantitative discipline

• Bring at least one year of relevant advanced analytics or data science experience

• Demonstrate coding experience with R, SAS, Python or VBA, plus a commitment to automation

• Apply knowledge of Generalised Linear Models and machine learning techniques, including gradient boosting, random forests or neural networks

• Communicate advanced technical concepts clearly and support colleagues in building capability

• Offer experience with Git, Linux, insurance modelling, AWS, Databricks or AI coding agents where applicable
