Senior Associate, Workplace Relations

An opportunity is available for an experienced employment Senior Associate to join a growing Brisbane practice advising employers across a broad range of workplace relations matters.

The role offers a varied mix of advisory, disputes and investigation work, with significant client interaction and the opportunity to take ownership of matters. You will work with organisations across the private and public sectors, helping clients navigate complex employment issues, workplace disputes and sensitive employee matters.

The Role

You will be involved across a broad range of workplace matters, which may include:

• Advising employers on employment contracts, policies, performance management and workplace conduct.
  


• Acting in employment-related disputes, claims and litigation.
  


• Advising on disciplinary processes, terminations and other sensitive employee matters.
  


• Assisting with complex workplace investigations and misconduct matters.
  


• Advising on workplace relations obligations and broader employment compliance issues.
  


• Supporting clients through organisational change and other workforce-related matters.
  


• Drafting employment documentation, correspondence, advice and court or tribunal materials.
  


• Managing matters directly and developing trusted relationships with clients.
  


• Working alongside senior practitioners on complex or strategically significant matters.
  

For more experienced lawyers, there will also be opportunities to supervise and mentor junior team members and contribute to the continued development of the practice.

About You

You will ideally bring:

• Experience across both contentious and non-contentious employment law.
  


• A solid grounding in employment and workplace relations advisory matters.
  


• Litigation or broader disputes experience, which would be advantageous.
  


• Strong drafting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  


• Confidence communicating directly with clients and managing sensitive matters.
  


• The ability to manage files with an appropriate level of autonomy.
  


• A collaborative approach and willingness to support more junior lawyers.
  


• An interest in contributing to the development of a growing practice.
